Mu Waterfall - The Primitive Destination for Travel in Hoa Binh

Like a girl at her most beautiful time, Mu waterfall attracts travellers by spectacular natural beauty of the blue cool water falling down huge rocks, creating many floors.

Located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, under the first part of the majestic Truong Son range, Mu waterfall is in Mu village, Tu Do commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh, only about 140km from Hanoi.

From afar, though not seen, but we can hear the sound of extraordinary cascade of water pouring down. Just climb down the short stone steps, around the groves and then Mu waterfall appears with rushing white water.

Stepping down to the waterfall you will feel overwhelmed by spectacular beauty that nature has endowed this place with the blue cool water falling down huge rocks, creating many floors. It is really eye-catching and very beautiful.

At the foot of the Mu waterfall, there is a small lake with walkway to each floor. The deepest point of the bottom of the falls is around 2 meters, so it is not too dangerous for tourists. One of the highlights of the Mu waterfalls is an amazing blue lagoon that is as large as a natural swimming pool at the foot of the falls.

Along the waterfalls from downstream to upstream, there are murky canopies, which people can go along to conquer each floor.

To reach the Mu waterfall, starting from Hanoi, you can go towards the Thang Long Boulevard to get to Ho Chi Minh Trail. After running more than 100km, close to the national forest of Cuc Phuong, we turn right and continue to drive more 15km to reach Vu Ban town (the centre of Lac Son district). Then ask for directions to the Mu waterfalls (Ngoc Son, Ngoc Lau, Tu Do). Please note that the road from Vu Ban town to Mu waterfall is really challenging because it is very dangerous, small and winding, so the best mean of transportation is motorbike.
